The project consultants for the Kiln Project are Messrs. PEG SA of Switzerland. The work on the project is progressing after signing of contracts with different contractors/suppliers and execution of civil work has commenced since December 1998. The Kiln, which is expected to be completed by the end of year 2000, will be capable of producing 1.8 million tons of gray clinker annually. The objective is to harness the natural resources and reduce dependency on raw material imports.

The Cement House is built on a convenient location in Kuwait City with modern engineering & architectural designs. The building consists of 8 floors, plus a basement, ground floor and mezzanine, and provides facilities such as round-the-clock security and safety system, central antenna & satellite dish, time + date + temperature display, car parking, etc. The company has occupied the top 3 floors and the rest are being leased out, to provide an investment return.

An additional mill for the production of about 115,000 MT White Cement per annum is being constructed by converting an existing gray mill into White Cement Mill. The conversion is being carried out by M/s. I.C.E.C. of Iran and the test-run of this new production line is anticipated in May 1999. The increased capacity is aimed at ensuring sufficient availability of White Cement in the local market.
